Edcafe AI Product Update #42: Whiteboard Submissions in Chatbot

Product update date: 14 Aug 2025

Students now have the option to use a whiteboard when interacting with your chatbot in Edcafe AI…

This update gives them more flexibility to express their ideas—whether by drawing diagrams, working out math problems, or sketching quick notes—and then submit their work directly inside the chatbot.

For students

  • Open the chatbot activity as usual.
  • Select the Whiteboard option to draw or sketch their response.
  • Submit the whiteboard, and it appears in the chat.
  • Each student can submit up to five whiteboards in a single chatbot session.

For teachers

  • View student whiteboards as they come in during the chatbot interaction.
  • Access all whiteboard submissions later in the chat history, alongside text responses.
  • Use the drawings to see not just the answers, but also the steps and reasoning behind them.

Why it’s useful

Whiteboard responses open up new ways to engage students beyond text. In subjects like math and science, where showing working steps is key, or in brainstorming sessions that benefit from visual thinking, the whiteboard provides a more natural way for students to respond.

For teachers, this means capturing both the final answer and the thinking process—all saved and accessible in your chat history.

This feature makes Edcafe AI chatbots more interactive and inclusive, supporting both written and visual learners in your classroom.
